WIRELESS TROUBLESHOOTING

Types of issues :
·         Intermittent connectivity
·         Slow connection
·         Connected - not online (local only)
·         Securing Wireless
·         Connected - Not  in range.

TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS :
·         Check for interferences, like cellphones, microwave oven, pine tree
·         Ensure the system is nearby the router
·         Login to router page using the default gateway

·         Change the channel number from "Auto" to 11 or 6
·         Most wireless cards will be of g or n type, hence ensure that the mode is auto(b/g/n)
·         Click apply and wait for the webpage to reload, since it takes time for the settings to be updated
·         If issue persists, try to remove the network profile from network and sharing center, and re-create the same.

·         Right click on the network and click remove
·         Click add and follow the instructions to add the network
·         If issue persists try with a different web browser

NOTE : The above troubleshooting can be used in all the above scenarios. Incase of local only issues in windows vista try running the Microsoft fix it (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928233/en-us).

·         In case of intermittent and local only, ensure 802.11 mode is at 54 Mbps, and 802.11N Band is at 2.4GHz
